Reflecting on my time as pastor I can see God led the way. When I was called into ministry and now opening a door into retirement. I see places where God has used my gifts that were first cultivated in business and on the farm, fostering in me a love of people, letting me grow and learn both with my time at Garrett COS, and as a pastor facing things like Covid. It was both amazingly great and challenging.
I have been blessed to both meet and work with wonderful colleagues and fantastic parishioners. It has been an honor to preach and teach in churches whose focus was to be as vital as possible, even during challenges and a quickly changing context. I was blessed to be able to see the progress we have made by authentically opening our doors to all. I am humbled by those who are now on the path into pulpit ministry who say I influenced their journey.
When I came to Coleman Faith, I knew this would be the place I would retire from. I will leave a big piece of my heart here but as I have told them, I know, in the same way I knew it was time to begin this journey as pastor, it is time to retire from this work. I leave with the knowledge I have done some things right, and I have done some things wrong. Yet through it all, God’s grace has made it good.
